Auto Sport Schweiz has fined the organizers for the Hemburg Hill Climb where The Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond crashed.
According to a report from , the Swiss sporting authority Auto Sport Schweiz fined the event organizers CHF5,000 ($5,141) saying that the runs conducted for did not confirm to the FIA’s International Sporting Code and acted against the interests of the sport. The three hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, were not active participants in the event, but were doing the hill climb for filming.

Hammond was behind the wheel of the Rimac Concept One when he lost control, flying off the road course and tumbling down a hill before the car caught fire. Hammond luckily managed to crawl out of the wreckage with a fractured knee.
Along with the fine, race director Christian Muller and three sports stewards Hermann Muller, Karl Marty, and Daniel Lenglet were handed six-month suspensions on their licenses. It’s a possibility the future of the event is now in jeopardy.
