Buick announced today that it will offer a suite of active safety systems across its entire lineup.

The list includes forward collision alert, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and a rear vision camera on every Buick model. Those features aren’t standard equipment, but it does set Buick apart as the only brand able to claim availability on its entire product portfolio.

That lineup is also small with only five vehicles to include: the Lacrosse, Regal and Verano sedans, Enclave SUV and Encore crossover (above).

While the 2014 lineup hasn’t all been reviewed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the brand highlighted that each of its vehicles from the 2013 model year were IIHS “Top Safety Picks.” It’s also worth noting that the IIHS recently introduced a new “Top Safety Pick Plus” category to include a new small overlap front crash test in which the Encore scored the lowest possible mark.

By offering the systems, Buick can boast that it’s safety systems are able to monitor potential hazards from the front rear and sides.
