Genesis' Google Assistant App Can Send Voice Commands to Your Car

Genesis has developed an app for Google Assistant which allows users to send voice commands to their Genesis vehicle.

The application can be used in conjunction with the Google Assistant for Android and iOS and Google Home. Using voice or text inputs, Genesis owners can send a variety of commands to their vehicle. They can send a destination to the navigation system, use the remote start, adjust the climate control, lock and unlock the doors and use the horn and lights.

The system works by linking a user’s Google Assistant app with their Genesis Connected Services account. Once the account has been linked to the app, Google Assistant will require them to input their Genesis Connect services PIN number. All Genesis vehicles come equipped with three years of complimentary Genesis Connected Services, which in addition to providing Google Assistant access allows the user to review their car’s past trips and service history and review a virtual owner’s manual.

Genesis will be hosting demos of the Genesis app for Google Assistant at the WIRED Store in Santa Monica, California from August 23rd to September 4th. The app is available for Genesis and Google Assistant users now.
