Mercedes Teases New Sprinter Sporting an Updated Look

The new Mercedes Sprinter van arrives next year.

Although Mercedes has only released a teaser sketch for its new Sprinter, it’s easy to see the front end’s design will be consistent with other new Mercedes models. It’s a bit like the X-Class pickup truck that won’t be heading to the U.S., with slim, horizontal headlights and a large front grille.

Along with the updated design, the Sprinter will benefit from the latest technologies from Mercedes, including driver assistance systems and connectivity services. The automaker also promises the new Sprinter “can be even more precisely adapted to individual transport and sector requirements thanks to a considerably extended range of variants.”

Look for the new Sprinter to launch in Europe in the first half of 2018 before heading to other markets. More details on it will be released in the coming months.

“We want to do more than just build the best vehicles. We want to offer the most suitable mobility solution for every sector and for every transport assignment,” said Volker Mornhinweg, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show (NACV). “And that is precisely our focus with the upcoming Sprinter generation as an overall system solution. It also goes without saying that the new edition of our iconic van possesses the classical attributes of reliability, safety and cost-effectiveness.”
