Each year Kiwi drifter ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett shows up to Goodwood with a rotary-powered drift car and spends all weekend destroying his rear tires – much to the pleasure of the car-crazy crowd looking on.
Mad Mike has changed it up a bit for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Instead of bringing along his insane four-rotor Mazda RX-7 or Rotary-powered MX-5, he turned up with something even crazier: a 13B Rotary-powered Mazda stadium truck.
Such a special creation deserves a special introduction, so Mad Mike showed up to Goodwood a few days early to tear up the neatly-manicured lawns of the West Sussex estate for sponsor Red Bull’s YouTube channel. In the video, the drifter scares the pants off his passenger by jumping, sliding and speeding his way through Goodwood’s hillclimb and off-road courses.
