BMW 8 Series Coupe Spied Again – This Time With Production Lights

The BMW 8-Series has been spied again – this time with the production car’s headlights exposed.

The BMW 8 Series Concept is currently enjoying its North American debut at 2017 Monterey Car Week, but the German automaker is busy testing the production model on roadways in Europe. Spy photographers have caught the latest prototype testing with production headlights and tail lights, although the car itself is still heavily camouflaged. As expected, certain design elements have been toned down a little bit compared to the concept, but the overall profile remains.

In the rear, we catch a glimpse of the tail lights, which appear to have sharp edges like the concept car.

It’s still unclear what will power the new flagship coupe for BMW, but its platform can support a variety of engines, from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder to a 6.6-liter biturbo V12. Don’t expect to see a small four-cylinder engine under the hood though, as it will likely come with a V8 standard. Look for the BMW 8 Series to make its production debut next year before going on sale in late 2018.
