2019 Bentley Flying Spur Spied Testing its New Platform

Spy photographers have caught the next-generation 2019 Bentley Flying Spur testing on public roadways.

The prototype is still wearing plenty of camouflage and Bentley is attempting to make it appear as if it’s the current Flying Spur. But we know better and since we’ve already seen the new Continental GT, we know what to expect when it comes to the new Flying Spur’s styling. Perhaps the biggest change to the new Flying Spur is the new platform, which is shared with the new Panamera. Called MSB-F, it’s a rear- and all-wheel-drive platform from the Volkswagen Group designed for luxury sedans.

That means the new Flying Spur will likely share some of the Panamera’s powertrain options, including plug-in hybrid and diesel setups. Hopefully, the luxury automaker doesn’t get rid of the 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine, but we know large engines aren’t long for the world.

Look for the new Bentley Flying Spur to debut late next year or early 2019.
