If you want the quickest and most technologically advanced BMW M model to date, it won’t come cheap.
BMW has announced pricing for the 2018 M5, with the sports sedan starting at $103,595 including destination. That’s around $8,500 more than its predecessor, but something tells us BMW won’t have any issues selling it. For the first time ever, owners will have the opportunity to switch between rear- and all-wheel drive on the M5, with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system specifically tuned for the BMW M5.
Powering the sedan is a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, which is 40 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque more than the previous model. The engine is paired to a new eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, helping the M5 go zero-to-60 mph in 3.2 seconds.

The German automaker says the 2018 BMW M5 will arrive U.S. dealerships starting in spring 2018. The launch of the model will commence with a “First Edition” model that is limited to 400 units worldwide, with approximately 100 heading to the U.S. It features an exclusive Frozen Dark Red Metallic paint and includes BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim with extended features. Pricing for the 2018 BMW M5 First Edition has not been announced.
