The new Volvo XC40 will launch this fall and the Swedish automaker claims the compact crossover “will bring a new standard of safety and user experience to the small SUV premium segment.”
Although the XC40 will be the first vehicle built on the company’s new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), the compact crossover will benefit from technologies first introduced in the 60 and 90 Series models that ride on Volvo’s larger Scalable Product Architecture (SPA).
Safety and driver assistance features we can expect on the XC40 once it debuts include Volvo’s semi-autonomous Pilot Assist system, the latest generation of City Safety, Run-off Road protection and mitigation, Cross Traffic alert with auto brake, and the 360-degree camera that helps drivers maneuver their car into tight parking spaces.

Like other Volvo models, the XC40 will also feature the automaker’s connected Sensus infotainment system in a now familiar large, portrait-oriented touchscreen.
