Photos of the new BMW Z4 Concept have surfaced online ahead of the roadster’s debut later today.
The concept features BMW’s evolutionary new design language, sporting a larger front grille and narrow headlamps that remind us of those seen on the BMW 8-Series Concept. The side profile appears carefully sculpted, with two character lines jetting toward the rear of the car. The back is similarly svelte and features a small lip spoiler, narrow taillights, and dual silver exhaust tips.
The cabin is akin to BMW’s current production cars with a large infotainment screen subtlely angled toward the driver and an alike dashboard layout. It blends both black Alcantara and orange leather for an attractive two-tone look that manages to look both sporty and luxurious. A chunky, flat bottom steering wheel with a white 12 o’clock marking hammers home the car’s sporting aspirations.

This is only a design study, so it’s reasonable to assume the production Z4 will be a bit dialed back compared to what you’re seeing here. Speaking of which, the production car is rumored to arrive early next year – perhaps at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March. It should arrive with turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter inline-six engines on offer, which will be available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
Stay tuned for more information on the BMW Z4 Concept once it debuts later today.
