Supercharged Silverado Leads a Trio of Custom Chevys into SEMA

Fans of Chevrolet trucks and SUVs will be happy to learn the automaker is bringing three very large custom creations to this year’s 2017 SEMA Show.

Our favorite of these SEMA concepts from Chevy’s truck division is the Silverado Performance Concept. The crew cab pickup started out life as a fairly pedestrian 5.3-liter V8 powered Silverado, but has been transformed with a supercharger system (good for a 100 hp boost), a cold-air intake, 22-inch wheels with performance tires, a ducted hood and Brembo brakes. There’s also smoked headlights and taillights, customer exterior graphics, a body-color grille, black trim, carbon-fiber Z71 gauges, a suede-wrapped steering wheel and a dash-mounted LCD data logger.

Country music star Luke Bryan also lent his creative vision to Chevy for a hunting and fishing-focused version of the Suburban SUV. It features 22-inch wheels, 35-inch off-road tires, a suspension lift, a roof-mounted equipment carrier with a fishing rod holder, a light bar, camo graphics, dark carbon exterior trim, a Kicker audio system, Brembo brakes, a lower skid plate and more. Chevy says the Suburban Concept is “aimed squarely at accommodating the outdoor activities (Luke Bryan) enjoys with his children.”

Rounding out the Chevy trucks lineup at SEMA is the Silverado 3500 NHRA Safety Safari concept. The Safety Safari is the NHRA’s official safety crew for the Mello Yello drag racing series, and this concept is a future vision for their support vehicle. As such, it features fire suppression and vehicle extraction equipment in the bed, Whelen light strobes, jacks, oil absorbent materials and other safety gear. It also has some 22-inch wheels and a hoard of black trim and components for an extra-sinister look.

The 2017 SEMA Show kicks off today and lasts through to November 3rd. These concepts will join approximately 30 other Chevy vehicles on the show floor in Las Vegas.
