Chevrolet announced a new series of special edition models called Redline at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.

Available on nine different Chevrolet models, Redline is the production embodiment of the brand’s 2015 Redline SEMA concept, bringing black wheels with red stickers, black nameplates with a red surround, along with blacked-out grilles and bowties.

Available on Cruze, Malibu, Camaro, Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Colorado, and Silverado, Redline is Chevy’s first cross-portfolio special edition application – special editions have increased average transaction prices and conquest rates for the Silverado, so why not see if the theory holds across segments?

“Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice-president of Chevrolet. “The SEMA show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.”

GM’s quick application translates into a 15-month turnaround time for a sticker package and black badges, but then again specific modelsget specific touches. Like the Redlined Silverado and Colorado sport serious red tow hooks, while the Camaro gets black hash marks above the wheels, harking back to Chevy’s historical performance on track.

Silverado Redlines will be first on deck before the rest of the Redline family becomes available before the end of 2017.
