Pre-Production Porsche Cayenne Spied with Barely Any Camouflage

A near production ready Porsche Cayenne prototype has been spied with wearing virtually no camouflage.

Expected to make its debut before year’s end at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2018 Porsche Cayenne will feature a facelift including updated headlights and tail lights. Spy photographers caught this pre-production prototype basically wearing next to no camouflage, save for the headlights and tail lights. They do, however, have graphics on them that give us an idea of what to expect.

The prototype was undergoing hot weather testing as spy photographers caught it driving in over 100-degree weather.

Expect to see a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines offered on the Porsche Cayenne, although it wouldn’t be a surprise if Porsche decides to drop the diesel from the North American market. In addition, the German automaker will add at least two plug-in hybrid variants to the lineup, with the Cayenne S E-Hybrid at the top of the range sporting 680 horsepower.

Look for more information on the 2018 Porsche Cayenne when it bows this September in Frankfurt, although it’s likely Porsche will reveal it before the show.
