It hasn’t even been 24 hours since Uber announced its self-driving car is available in San Francisco and it has been caught on camera running a red light.
Using Volvo XC90 SUVs and working with the Swedish automaker, Uber has launched a self-driving pilot in San Francisco. And within the first day of the announcement, at least one person has tweeted about seeing the self-driving Uber nearly hitting a car, while another person has posted a video showing the XC90 running a red light through an intersection with a pedestrian trying to cross the street.

It will be interesting to see how this is handled considering it hasn’t even been 24 hours since Uber officially made the announcement of its self-driving pilot in California.
Uber employees are required to keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times even in the self-driving car, so there’s a possibility this could have been human error all along.
