Honda has issued a recall for 646 vehicles in the U.S.
Honda is voluntarily recalling the vehicles to replace the passenger front airbag module for free. According to the Japanese automaker, these vehicles were previously recalled as part of the massive Takata airbag inflator recall and improperly fixed. “While performing recall replacements of Takata passenger airbag inflators, two dealer technicians at a single specific U.S. Honda dealer installed replacement inflators incorrectly in these vehicles,” Honda said in a statement.
The issue could cause the airbag to not inflate properly, increasing the risk of injury. It was first discovered when a customer returned to the dealer for an unrelated service issue. No injures have been reported related to the issue.

Honda is urging affected owners to take their vehicle to any authorized Honda dealership as soon as possible for the free repair. Dealer representatives are already attempting to contact all affected owners by phone and mail notification to owners of any remaining unrepaired vehicles will begin in early October.
Affected vehicles include 2008-2012 Accord, 2010-2012 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2012 Fit, 2010-2012 Insight, and 2009-2012 Pilot.
