New Porsche Cayenne has Undergone Over 2.7M Miles of Testing

The 2018 Porsche Cayenne will make its debut on August 29th.

Known internally as “E3” within Porsche, the third-generation Cayenne has been testing worldwide in extreme temperatures, up to minus 45-degrees Celsius on ice and snow in Alaska and up to plus 50-degrees Celsius in the sand dunes of Dubai. The new SUV has also endured the hot and humid conditions of Chinese cities, and because it’s a Porsche model, there has been plenty of track testing as well. Our spy photographers have caught the new Cayenne on the Nurburgring, but Porsche says prototypes have also made their rounds on the Hockenheimring, Nardò in Italy, as well as test tracks in Sweden, Finland, and Spain.

Details on the new SUV weren’t released, but Porsche did share a few teaser photos of the prototypes testing without any camouflage, along with a video that you can watch below.

“The vehicle is a complete redevelopment,” Porsche said in a release. “The drive and chassis as well as the display and control concept have been redesigned to further increase the spread between sportiness and comfort.”
