New Audi A8 Teasers Continue to Trickle Out

Although the official reveal of the Audi A8 is only a week away, the automaker is again tantalizing us with a little more metal.

Yesterday, Audi introduced us to the massaging seats it claimed would help melt stress away, and today the brand has revealed just a little bit more of the car’s exterior design, pictured above.

Today’s teaser features extra long back doors, leading some to believe this is actually the A8L. With fancy lights fore and aft, a healthy amount of chrome brightwork and a handsome sedan shape, this new A8 looks set to impress.

The cabin, meanwhile, will be jam packed with luxury. True to this limousine’s nature, the backs of the front seats will have a folding panel that will cradle and massage your feet.

Admittedly, the whole setup looks a little odd, and I’m sure chauffeurs will be none too happy about the setup, but a good foot massage is pretty much the height of luxury, so if Audi has done this properly, it could be brilliant.

Riding in the A8 shouldn’t be too stressful in the first place, though, since it’s suspension is going to new lengths to smooth out the ride. Using the forward camera, the new A8 will scan the road for bumps and adjust the suspension to make it as smooth as possible.

The A8 will also be able to park itself and is being touted as the first truly autonomous car, since the system allows drivers to take their attention off the road under specific circumstances.

Expect all other details to be revealed next Tuesday, July 11 at the Audi Summit in Barcelona.
