Mercedes-AMG's Four-Door Sports Car Concept is Electrified

The German automaker has released another teaser for its Panamera fighter.

The short video offers quick glimpses at details of the four-door sports car, and in particular the EQ Power logo, suggesting that the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept is electrified. EQ Power is Mercedes-Benz’s answer to BMW’s i sub-brand for its electrified vehicles. It also makes sense, since the German automaker announced in its 2017 Geneva Motor Show preview that the upcoming AMG concept provides “a glimpse of the future of performance.”

AMG hasn’t shied away from saying sooner or later it will incorporate hybrid powertrains into its high-performance models and the four-door GT could be the first. Rumors suggest the model will be called the GT4 once it heads to production and it could arrive on the market by next year.
