McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has introduced the McLaren 720S Velocity.

The British automaker waited just 24 hours after introducing the second-generation Super Series model to roll out a special version from MSO. Designed to showcase the “almost limitless scope of personalisation possibilities available to buyers who opt to commission their new Super Series car from McLaren Special Operations,” the McLaren 720S Velocity has a striking exterior featuring two pearlescent hues of red. One of them is a newly formulated shade called Nerello Red, which was used on the front and upper body panels of the car. The sides and rear of the car are covered by Volcano Red.

MSO complemented the unique paintwork with lightweight alloy wheels finished in metallic bronze, while a range of exterior carbon fiber parts give the 720S an even bolder appearance. Carbon fiber goods include the red carbon fiber hood, gloss carbon rear deck vent, gloss carbon service cover, gloss carbon rear aero bridge and satin carbon full length sill cover.

Plenty of customization can be seen inside as well, with Carbon Black Alcantara trim used throughout the cabin. Complementing the exterior Velocity theme are Harissa Red highlights and Harissa Red leather details.

As a complete vehicle, the McLaren 720S Velocity costs around $407,560 (£335,000) but it’s really to demonstrate just what MSO can do for its customers. The company has actually already customized five different 720S models, but only the Velocity is on display at Geneva. The other four, GT, Pacific, Track and Stealth, are being shown on screens at the show.
