Jeep Scrambler Pickup Spotted Again in Spy Shots

Jeep Scrambler Pickup Spotted Again in Spy Shots

A new set of spy shots has given us our best look yet at the new Jeep Wrangler-based pickup truck, rumored to be called the Scrambler.

The new Jeep Scrambler pickup appears to be based on the long wheelbase Unlimited platform and will be close in size to the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Styling up front will be all Jeep, so don’t expect it to stray far from what we have seen with the JL.

Engines for the truck will almost certainly be shared with the Wrangler, meaning a 285-horsepower V6 will be the base option while a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque is the upgraded choice. A 3.0-liter diesel will be joining the Wrangler’s ranks in 2019, a choice that could also find its way into the truck.

The use of aluminum is supposed to be heavy on the new truck to help it save weight.

The new Scrambler should debut sometime before the end of 2018 with an on-sale date somewhere in early 2019.
