Get Ready for a Bunch of Special Edition Jeep Wranglers

Starting next month, Jeep will introduce new special edition Wrangler models to the market.

According to , the American automaker is stretching out consumer interest in the outgoing JK Wrangler over the next year, as consumers wait for the arrival of the next-generation JL Wrangler, scheduled for the second half of 2017. The first two limited edition models were detailed to dealers in their November ordering books and include the 2017 Wrangler Sport Freedom and 2017 Wrangler Sahara Winter editions. Both will go on sale starting December, but the Freedom model will only be offered until February while the Winter edition will run until May.

Expect the 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sport Freedom edition to feature Freedom star hood and rear fender decals, an American flag driver side front fender decal and other interior and exterior badging. it will also come equipped with 18-inch Sahara mid-gloss granite crystal wheels, a new rear heavy-duty cast differential cover, black fuel filter cover and tail light guards. It will reportedly have a starting price of $30,690 including destination for the two-door model, while the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Sport Freedom edition will start from $34,590.

The Wrangler Sahara Winter edition will be outfitted with new LED headlights and fog lights, standard remote start (with the automatic transmission), premium off-road rock rails and a standard hard top, along with optional body coloring. Like the Freedom edition, it will feature special decals and badging and comes with a $37,440 price tag for the two-door model and $41,240 starting price on the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Winter edition.

Later next year, the American automaker plans to offer other special edition models, but their detailed specifications have not been announced. According to internal sources, they include a Sport Big Bear edition (February-July), Sahara Chief edition (March-June), Sahara Smoky Mountain edition (March-July) and Rubicon Recon edition that replaces the Rubicon Hard Rock when it ends production in February.
