Elon Musk Testing Car Elevators for His Crazy Underground Tunnels

Progress with Elon Musk’s Boring Company seems to be moving quickly.

The Telsa CEO has shared a video of the company testing car elevators that will be used in a high-tech network of underground tunnels in California that will allow people to zip around on electric sleds so they don’t have to sit in L.A. traffic. Musk only made his idea public a few months ago, so to see this kind of quick is really impressive.

The concept is that drivers will be able to pull up to a car elevator on street level to be taken underground on an electric sled and then travel through the tunnels autonomously at speeds of up to 125 mph. Becuase it’s autonomous, it will require practically no driver intervention.

Check out the elevator testing below and the larger concept for the tunnels below Musk’s Instagram post.
