BMW i8 Spyder Spied Testing in the Frigid Cold

Spy photographers have caught the BMW i8 Spyder testing in the most unfavorable conditions for a convertible.

Being put through its paces during winter testing in Sweden, it’s no surprise the BMW i8 Spyder has its top up with all the snow around it. Although we don’t expect very many surprises with the production BMW i8 Spyder, the big question is whether the convertible’s doors will open conventionally or if they will open upwards like the BMW i8 Spyder Concept and the existing coupe. Unfortunately, the test drivers never got out of the prototype, so spy photographers weren’t able to see how the doors open.

As a bonus, this particular prototype also features the changes we can expect to see when the facelifted BMW i8 debuts. The camouflage is doing its job in concealing the details, but there are going to be some minor changes to the front end.
