The front-wheel-drive 2017 Audi A3 gets 16 more horsepower, 21 more pound-feet of torque, and two more miles per gallon thanks to a new 2.0-liter TFSI engine.
The ubiquitous 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine replaces the 1.8L motor previously offered on the front-wheel-drive A3.
Among the improvements to the engine is a new the compression ratio that goes up from 9.6:1 to 11.7:1, improving torque, power, and efficiency. The result is 186 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque, which gets the new A3 off the line and up to 60 mph in just 6.6 seconds, more than half a second faster than the outgoing model.

The engine is mated to Audi’s new seven-speed S-tronic dual clutch transmission. Together, they help the 2017 Audi A3 to achieve 29 mpg.
Prices start at $31,200 in the U.S. and go all the way up to $46,550 for a Cabriolet with the Prestige package.
Or you could sacrifice a little comfort, efficiency and a lot of cash and pick up the 330-hp RS 3 LMS, which also comes with the 2.0-liter TFSI engine.
