2019 BMW X4 Fully Revealed in Latest Spy Photos

This is the 2019 BMW X4.

Months ahead of its expected debut, several 2019 BMW X4s were caught completely undisguised on an open hauler outside BMW’s Spartanburg, South Carolina, manufacturing facility.

Internally referred to as “G02,” the redone X4 is expected to ride on BMW’s new CLAR architecture which will underpin all future models bigger than the 3 Series, as a result the ’19 X4 should shed several hundred pounds compared to the outgoing model.

Visually, the new X4 is much more fluid and raked that the current design. The roofline is even more swoopy coupe, the head and tail lamps are slimmer, while the nose is more upright and dominated by a larger kidney grille. M Performance models will get a reworked bumper with a large central opening, bigger intakes and chrome accents.

Speaking of M Performance models, the X4 M40i will make its return in 2019, along with a new option, the M40d which could use a version of BMW’s new 3-liter quad-turbo inline six. There’s also the promise of a fully fledged X4M which will aim to chase down Audi’s SQ5, Mercedes-AMG’s GLC 63 and higher performance versions of the Porsche Macan.

Production of the new X4 will start in the early part of 2018 before deliveries begin in earnest sometime later next year.
