Riding on an all-new platform, the Subaru Crosstrek has finally been redesigned.

Known as the XV in other markets, the Crosstrek’s new platform is stiffer, lighter and stronger than its predecessor, with Subaru claiming it gives better and more stable driving dynamics. The crossover is also quieter, safer and more efficient with a 2.0-liter Boxer four-cylinder engine under the hood with 154 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. Torque vectoring has also been added, while the CVT has been remapped to be more responsive while feeling more natural.

Overall, the new 2018 Crosstrek doesn’t look dramatically different but it does receive the Japanese automaker’s “hawk eye” headlights and a wider more upright grille. Look for the North American version of the Subaru Crosstrek to debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show, but don’t expect to see too many differences.
