The Mercedes-Benz C-Class may soon receive some minor cosmetic updates, with a camouflaged C-Class having been caught testing this week by spy photographers.
The prototype was wearing camouflage over its front and rear ends, indicating that a new front fascia with a different grille is likely in store along with a different rear bumper. New headlights and taillights were also present on the tester.
As is typically the case with mid-cycle updates, the interior will also get minor updates, this time in the way of a different instrument cluster and a new laptop-style touchpad in the center console. The camouflage seen draped over the dash is hiding a new steering wheel and an S-Class style infotainment system, as indicated by previous spy shots.

We can’t see too many changes happening under the hood just yet. While Mercedes does have a next-generation family of inline-six engines in the works, they probably won’t appear until the next-generation CLS arrives next year. For now, the C-Class will retain its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and 3.0-liter V6 engines. We imagine C43 and C63AMG models will retain their respective twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and 4.0-liter V8 engines as well.
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class could be set for a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September or the subsequent Los Angeles Auto Show in late November.
