Photos of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class has surfaced on LinkedIn.
It’s part of a post made by Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche, where he talked extensively about the importance of test-driving cars and says the 2018 Mercedes A-Class is “special.”
Zetsche paints the new A-Class as a symbol for the “rejuvenation of our entire brand that began with the launch of the current A-Class back in 2012.” In other words, the new A-Class will usher in a next-generation of compact models that will influence the new CLA and GLA models in the U.S. But Mercedes has plans to expand its compact offerings to eight models over the next few years while offering more advanced assistance systems as it works towards fully autonomous vehicles.

And while he poses the question “So, why we do [sic] still go on these road trips in camouflage?” Well, it’s because the human factor still remains key to success, and the German automaker needs to ensure the driving performance of the new A-Class lives up to the sporty design, quality and ease of operation deserving of the Mercedes star. He concludes the post thanking the entire A-Class team, saying they did an amazing job and he looks forward to pulling the camouflage off the next-generation compact model.
Look for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class to make its debut sometime next year.
