2018 Infiniti Q50 Refreshed Inside and Out

The refreshed luxury sedan made a quiet debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

Most of Infiniti’s focus in New York was on the QX80 Monograph Concept, but the Japanese luxury automaker also introduced a refreshed version of its best-selling model. The new Infiniti Q50 features updated exterior and interior designs, as well as innovative technologies to support the driver. Inside, changes to the interior include unique stitching on premium and soft-touch materials that surround the instrument panel, as well as a sport-oriented shift knob. There’s also a new steering wheel with molded positions for the driver’s thumbs, spinal support seats and Infiniti InTouch Services designed to synchronize the car and the driver.

Exterior changes may be subtle, but the grille is slightly larger and features more prominent swoops on the corners. There’s contrasting black plastic trim on the front bumper’s side grilles, while in the rear the center diffuser is now at the base of the bumper.

Powertrain options carryover, so buyers will be able to select from an entry-level 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 in different power grades including the Red Sport 400.

The 2018 Infiniti Q50 will arrive in the U.S. later this summer and expect pricing to be announced closer to its release.
