2018 Dodge Durango R/T Gives You SRT Show Without the Go

Fiat Chrysler has applied the Dodge Durango SRT’s front end to the lesser Durango R/T for the 2018 model year, giving buyers SRT looks without the 475 horsepower powertrain.

Dodge rolled out the Durango SRT earlier this year at the New York International Auto Show. The latest in high-performance SUVs from FCA, it packs the automaker’s 475 horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8, which is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. The result is a three-row SUV that will hustle from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in just 12.9 seconds.

For 2018, the 360 horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V8-powered Durango R/T will wear the Durango SRT’s performance front fascia and hood, which work together to provide additional cooling to the engine bay. The automaker has also made B5 Blue available as an exterior color for the Durango R/T (previously only offered on the Durango SRT) while Front Park Assist and the Beats nine-speaker audio system are now standard on all Durango R/Ts.

FCA has also introduced changes across the Durango range for 2018. All Durango models will now feature a new sport steering wheel and electronic T-shifter, while Durango GT models will offer standard power liftgate and Capri and suede bucket leather seats. A new hand-wrapped instrument panel with accent stitching is also now available and rounds out the major changes.

Dodge dealers are now able to place orders for the 2018 model year Durango, with deliveries expected to begin in the third-quarter of this year. Pricing has yet to be announced.
