2018 BMW 2 Series Gets Updated, But You'll Hardly Notice

BMW has introduced the “new” 2 Series lineup.

The refresh to the 2 Series is mild at best, and we may not have been able to tell the difference had BMW not outlined what was changed.

On the outside, the 2 Series gets new bi-LED headlights as standard, while available as an option are bi-LED adaptive headlights. There’s a new kidney grille surround and updated air intakes on the bottom of the bumper. Shoppers can also opt for the LED foglights as an option. In the rear there are new LED tail lights.

BMW has added three new colors to choose from: Mediterranean Blue, Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange. Four new wheel variants are available as options to help further personalize the 2 Series.

There’s a longer list of changes inside the cabin, with a new instrument display with a black-panel design. While subtle, BMW says the air vents also have a new design and the interior’s “geometry” has a greater driver focus. The glove compartment features a new design and the center console has been updated. One new leather upholstery variant and two new cloth upholstery variants are available throughout the lineup as options.

The updated 2018 BMW 2 Series will start heading to dealerships this July, so expect pricing to be announced closer to its launch.
