The problem:  Affected vehicles may exhibit a whining or grinding noise while driving at highway speeds; the noise level may increase with vehicle speed. This condition may be due to a faulty bearing inside the constantly variable transmission, or a faulty CVT itself.

Vehicles affected by this service campaign:

  • 2013 Nissan Altima
  • 2014 Nissan Altima
  • 2015 Nissan Altima

With a 4-cylinder engine only.

Corrective action: Dealers will inspect the CVT for internal damage and replace faulty parts. If the internal damage is extensive, dealers will replace the CVT.

Warranty info: This service campaign is being performed free of charge under the Nissan new car, extended, or powertrain warranty, whichever applies.
