2006-2007 Mitsubishi Raider Airbag Issue

2006-2007 Mitsubishi Raider Airbag Issue

AutoAfterWorld.COM — Vehicles affected by service bulletin:

  • 2006 Mitsubishi Raider (built May 18, 2005 – June 29, 2007)
  • 2007 Mitsubishi Raider (built May 18, 2005 – June 29, 2007)

The problem: The driver's-side airbag inflator housing may rupture due to excessive internal pressure during normal airbag deployment. The condition is more likely to occur if the vehicle has been exposed to high levels of humidity for extended time periods. Should the inflator housing assembly rupture during deployment, vehicle occupants could be injured by metal fragments deployed with the airbag.

Corrective action: Dealers will replace the driver's-side airbag inflator with a new, updated part.

Warranty info: This action will be done free of charge under this service campaign.
