This Could be Chevy's New Crossover

A new trademark filed by General Motors may be giving us an early glimpse of its new upcoming crossover.

Back in July, reported that Chevrolet is preparing a new crossover that will fit in between the Equinox and the Traverse in its lineup and new design patent photos appear to show the unnamed new crossover.

The patent, filed with Europe’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, was submitted in December of 2015 and was published in February of 2016.

While the patent is owned by General Motors, the country of priority is listed as Korea. This suggests that the unnamed crossover may launch in Korea first before coming to the U.S.

To accommodate the new crossover in North America, the Chevy Equinox will be shrinking to better take on the midsize crossovers like the Toyota Rav4 and Ford Escape, while the new crossover will be aimed at the Toyota Highlander and Ford Edge.

Chevy’s new crossover is supposed to show up in the second half of 2017.
