Ringbrothers Introduce Insane 1,000 HP AMC Javelin at SEMA

Well-known Wisconsin-based tuning shop Ringbrothers always bring something insane to the annual SEMA Show, and 2017 was no exception.

Ringbrothers, which is run by the brother pairing of Jim and Mike Ring, debuted their AMC Javelin AMX creation at SEMA today, which they are referring to as Defiant! (the exclamation mark is part of the official name). The heavily modified Javelin is a step away from the Fords and Chevys they are perhaps best known for modifying and is much different than anything else on the floor at SEMA.

Under the hood of Defiant! is Fiat Chrysler’s 6.2-liter Hellcat V8, which has been upgraded with an absolutely massive 4.5-liter Whipple supercharger for a 293 horsepower boost in output, bringing the total to 1,000 hp. Other mods include a full Flowmaster exhaust, HRE wheels, Baer performance brakes and a custom “Jalop Gold” exterior paint color. A matte black decal spans the front of the car and has Prestone cutouts – the coolant company that sponsored this head-turning creation.

“Jim and I have always wanted to build an AMX,” said Mike Ring. “We’ve seen this particular car driving around our hometown of Plain, Wisconsin since we were kids and we always loved it. The AMX was such a neat car, unlike anything else at that time.”

What do you think, is the Ringbrothers’ crazy 1,000 hp Javelin the most impressive thing at SEMA this year? We’re beginning to believe so.
