Ken Okuyama Unveils One Off, Coachbuilt Kode 0 Supercar

Ken Okuyama has unveiled his new one-off Kode 0 supercar at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Monterey today after teasing the vehicle last week.

The coachbuilt supercar is based on the Lamborghini Aventador and utilizes its 700 horsepower V12 engine and carbon fiber tub. Described as an ” antithesis of modern day supercar design,” the Kode 0 is reminiscent of the wedge-shaped supercars of the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Its wedge-like shape is further exaggerated by its short overhangs, narrow, vertically-mounted LED headlights and high-mounted taillights.

“In the early 1970s, humankind was filled with dreams,” the company said in a statement. “It was a time when legendary designer Marcello Gandini and famed carrozzeria craftsmen penned masterpieces like the Lancia Stratos Zero, Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari Moduro.”

“The Kode 0 concept revives those dream car proportions of yesteryear using modern-day technologies,” it added.

Other notable styling features on the Kode 0 include a triangular-shaped exhaust outlet, metallic green-painted cooling fans, a green-painted engine cover and green-painted interior accents. Because the car is a one-off creation and won’t be replicated, its price was not disclosed. However seeing as Okuyama’s other creations commanded steep, seven-figure price tags, we imagine he would need a considerable sum to be enticed out of the Kode 0.
