The first production 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport will be heading to auction for a good cause.
The American automaker announced that the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport will cross the auction block this Friday, April 8 at 3:00 PM Pacific / 6:00 PM Eastern at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach, Florida, auction. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
GM has participated in many charity auctions in the past with several other first production vehicles. It also extends the company’s long-standing support of the Karmanos Cancer Institute, one of only 45 National Cancer Institute-designed comprehensive cancer centers in the country. Last year, GM raised $200,000 with the first Cadillac CT6 sedan being auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson.

In addition, the GM Foundation will once again make a grant of $400,000 to fund cancer research at Karmanos.
Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine, the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport features 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque and is a limited edition model with a Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior highlighted by Tension Blue hash-mark graphics, satin black stripes, black wheels and an exclusive Tension Blue full leather and suede-wrapped interior. The coupe and convertible models will go on sale this summer in the U.S.
