Dubai's Newest Police Vehicle Surprisingly Isn't a Supercar

The Dubai police force is getting a new car on its fleet, but it’s not a Bugatti or a Lamborghini.

Dubai’s police force has become known for having the best supercars and even hypercars in its fleet, including the ridiculous Lykan HyperSport. But the latest addition won’t have a fancy automaker’s badge on — it’s from Singapore-based OTSAW Digital and it’s an autonomous robot car. Expected to arrive on streets by year’s end, the O-R3 is an autonomous, self-driving car that is equipped with biometric software that scans for wanted criminals and suspects that could be breaking the law.

It will essentially serve as a patrol vehicle, boosting security while looking for unusual activity. The vehicle will even come with its own drone and both the vehicle and the drone are monitored and linked to the Dubai police command room.

Dubai will be the first city in the world to use the O-R3, and the move is part of the Smart Dubai initiative and comes just months after Dubai unveiled a flying taxi that it hopes to put in use.
