Chevy Teases Camaro ZL1 1LE Nurburgring Record Attempt in Vertical Video

The regular ZL1 may have laid down a 7:29.60 through Green Hell late last year, but now Chevrolet is looking to wipe the grin off the faces of the elite European brands with the supercar shaming ZL1 1LE.

Helping wind the wick on this track focused monster is a new suite of aerodynamic goodies, including a huge rear wing, massive front splitter, and professional looking dive planes; while a set of Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspension Spool-Valve (DSSV) Dampers lifted from the Camaro Z/28 will help smooth out the Nurburgring’s infamously bumpy pavement.

Combined with a 60-lb diet and chewing gum soft Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar rubbers, the ZL1 1LE is capable of up to 1.10 g of lateral grip.

The track-focused uber-Camaro is allegedly three seconds faster around GM’s 2.9-mile Milford road course than the base ZL1, but how will that translate around the 12.9-mile Nordschleife?
