BMW has released stunning photos of the M3 and M4 equipped with their new Competition Package.
Available on sedan, coupe and convertible models, the Competition Package adds numerous enhancements to these luxury sports cars, including a 19-horsepower bump, which brings the total to 444 in the U.S. or 450 in Europe. Retailing for $5,500 in the U.S., this package improves the zero-to-62 MPH blast by 0.1 seconds and includes an improved adaptive M suspension, which has been “extensively tuned to the enhanced performance handling, features new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, along with reconfigured driving modes,” said the German automaker.
In addition, the standard Active M Differential on the rear axle and DSC Dynamic Stability Control have been configured to match the upgraded dynamics.

The Competition Package also equipped the BMW M3 and M4 with exclusive multi-spoke 20-inch M alloy wheels mated to 265/30/20 front tires and 285/30/20 rear tires. Inside, cars so equipped also gain special lightweight M sports seats while the seatbelts are now woven-in with BMW M stripes.
Exterior highlights include the M sports exhaust with black chrome tips and BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line exterior trim. This high-gloss black finish can also be found on the cars’ iconic BMW kidney grille, side gills and model badging.
According to a press release from BMW UK, M3s and M4s equipped with the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch transmission can now go zero-to-62 MPH in just 4.0 seconds, while the M4 convertible does the sprint in 4.3. Models equipped with the standard six-speed manual benefit from a 0.1-second drop in acceleration time.
