BMW i3 Spied Testing a Light Refresh

BMW i3 Spied Testing a Light Refresh

The changes won’t be extreme, but a slight update will give the BMW i3 a fresh look until the next-generation model arrives.

Spy photographers caught the prototype testing just outside of Munich, Germany, wearing quite a bit of camouflage to conceal its changes. There will be a redesigned front bumper with fog lights sporting a different style, while the headlights will get new graphics and what appears to be full LEDs. Since the rear bumper is also covered with camouflage, expect some subtle changes there as well.

Inside, you can expect the BMW i3 to benefit from an updated dash with the latest infotainment system from the brand. Most of the major changes will happen underneath the body, with the i3 likely getting a new range-topping i3S model with a bit more performance and range. The standard model should also benefit from a minor boost in power and range.

Expect the facelifted BMW i3 to make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
