BMW Gives its X2 Prototype Some Stylish Urban Camouflage

Black and white is just so last year.

The new BMW X2 “still has some time to go before its highly anticipated world premiere,” the German automaker said, but that isn’t stopping BMW from showing off a new gallery of photos featuring an X2 prototype wearing stylish urban camouflage. These days, automakers have a hard time concealing their test cars thanks to the internet and spy photographers all around the world, so BMW has chosen to embrace it by making its X2 prototype look somewhat exciting with this neat wrap.

Between the concept BMW has shown and a recent design patent, we have a good idea of what the BMW X2 will look like once it debuts. It’s clear however, that BMW is hoping to target a younger demographic with the X2, which it will be marketing as a “Sports Activity Coupe.”

Under the hood of the X2 will likely be BMW’s 230 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which will joined by an eight-speed automatic transmission. The automaker’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system will probably be standard — just as it is in the X1.
