BMW isn’t changing much with the 2 Series facelift.
Spy photographers have caught the latest prototype testing sporting very little camouflage. That means there won’t be any significant changes to the convertible’s design when it debuts later this year. Do expect to see updated headlights with LED daytime running lights and a small redesign on the front kidney grilles. The tail lights will also get new graphics.
The photographers also note that the dash inside the cabin was covered up, suggesting there will be some changes to the interior as well.

BMW updated the engine lineup on the 2 Series models last year, so it’s possible they will see more tweaks when the facelifted version debuts. But don’t expect any major changes or performance jumps. The 2017 BMW 230i Coupe and Convertible models are both currently powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The more powerful M240i has a new inline-six-cylinder engine with 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
