Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus Makes Public Debut Soon

Audi will have a big presence at this year’s Goodwood Festival of speed with no fewer than 29 cars on display including, for the first time ever, the R8 Spyder V10 Plus.

The R8 Spyder V10 Plus made its digital debut last week but has yet to be shown off in public. The 610-hp droptop is the fastest series-production convertible Audi has ever made.

With a soft top that can go up and down in just 20 seconds and a lightweight spaceframe chassis, the R8 Spyder V10 Plus achieves acceleration and top speed figures that are almost identical to its hardtop sister.

The model shown at Goodwood will be painted in Micrommata green, a color unique to the Spyder. If that shade of green doesn’t float your boat, though, Audi will allow you to pick almost any color in the visible spectrum.

The R8 will be joined by the Q8 Sport Concept, a 475-hp teaser of Audi’s coming flagship SUV, showing for the first time on U.K. soil.

Meanwhile, the full Audi Sport RS lineup will be on display, as well as an RS5 DTM. That car, along with its road legal alternative, the RS5, will be headed up Lord March’s driveway for the famous Goodwood Hillclimb.

Meanwhile, Audi’s mid-engine Group S rallying prototype, made just as Group S was being discontinued, will be driven by rally legend Hannu Mikkola and the 2000 Audi R8 LMP car that won at Le Mans will be piloted by Tom Kristensen.

Audi is going all out at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed that kicks off on Thursday, June 29.
