Audi Q2 Introduced as a Sporty, Luxurious Compact Crossover

Audi has introduced the newest member to its crossover and SUV family.

As expected, the Audi Q2 is a compact crossover sporting aggressive styling in hopes of appealing to a younger demographic. Up front, the Q2 has a strong appearance thanks to a Singleframe grille with an octagonal design that is positioned high, along with large inlets. The compact crossover has a low roof that descends and merges into the C-pillars with color offset blades, helping accentuate the sportiness of the model. In the rear is a long roof spoiler and a diffuser featuring an underbody-protection look.

According to Audi, the Q2 measures five-feet tall and 5.9-feet wide while riding on a 8.5-feet wheelbase. Along with a high entry point, good visibility and a large luggage compartment, the Q2 offers plenty of functionality with 14.3 to 37.1 cubic feet of storage space, depending on whether the rear seats are folded down.

Power output on the engines range from 116 horsepower to 190 hp and a six-speed manual or a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission are available for every powerplant. They can also be combined with a quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system as standard equipment.

Inside, there’s plenty of high-tech features with the optional Audi virtual cockpit and head-up display along with Audi pre sense front as standard. Options available for the Q2 include adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, traffic jam assist, the lane-departure warning system Audi side assist, the lane-keeping assistant Audi active lane assist, traffic sign recognition and parking and cross-traffic assist rear.

The Audi Q2 will launch in the European market starting in fall 2016.
