Alpina's Latest Creation is its Quickest One Yet

The 2017 Alpina B5 Biturbo goes zero-to-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds.

Based on the all-new BMW 5 Series, the Alpina B5 Biturbo is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 engine with 608 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque and is even quicker than the BMW M550i that has a zero-to-62 time of four-seconds flat. Considering the new BMW M550i is the quickest 5 Series BMW has ever created – it’s even quicker than the current BMW M5 – the Alpina B5 Biturbo will appeal to those who can’t wait for the new M5. The high-performance sedan also has a top speed of 205 mph.

The Alpina B5 Biturbo comes standard with xDrive all-wheel drive for the first time in the history of Alpina’s version of the 5 Series. On all four corners are iconic 20-inch Alpina Classic wheels, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires specifically designed for the car.

The eight-speed automatic transmission has been tweaked and uses Connected Shift, a system that uses GPS data for “anticipatory shifting.” Alpina has also tuned the electronically adjustable dampers.

There’s even a wagon variant that is slightly slower than the sedan with a 3.6-second sprint time and a top speed of 202 mph. Unfortunately there’s little to no chance it will ever head to the U.S.
