The next-generation Porsche 911 has finally hit the track for testing.
This isn’t the first time spy photographers have caught the 992-generation Porsche sports car testing, but this is the first time it’s been seen testing in its natural habitat. That is of course, the world famous Nurburgring in Germany.
Wearing pretty much no camouflage, we get a good idea of how Porsche will update the 911 model with what appears to be a wider body and a much more aggressive rear end. The lighting arrangement out back appears influenced by the Mission E Concept and we can now see that the rear spoiler is much wider. Other minor changes include new door handles and a tweaked hood.

Like the current Porsche 911, the next-generation model will have coupe, convertible and Targa versions and we’ve already seen both the coupe and convertible testing. The Targa model should come a few months after the coupe and convertible debuts sometime late next year or early 2019. Expect to see the hardcore GT3, GT3 RS and GT2 to come later on.
Rumor has it this might be the first Porsche 911 model to offer a hybrid variant, thanks to its new platform.
