2019 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV Partially Revealed in New Teaser

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has been teased by the Korean automaker ahead of a debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The new Santa Fe takes on a slightly boxier shape and has a more upright stance than the vehicle it replaces. Spy photos of the SUV revealed it will adopt Hyundai’s new grille shape, seen on the recently introduced Veloster, and will feature narrow headlamps with large, circular fog lamps mounted just beneath them. In short, it will probably look like an oversized Hyundai Kona.

The previous Santa Fe was offered in both five- and seven-seat configurations, but rumors point to this new model growing a bit in size and adopting an eight-seat layout. The five-seat short wheelbase version will remain, however. The five-seat model will probably come with Hyundai’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the LWB version could feature its 3.3-liter V6.

Hyundai says the new Santa Fe will offer “a comprehensive package of Hyundai’s latest active safety features under the Smart Sense technology umbrella,” and will feature a new ‘Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning’ system that will automatically apply the brakes when necessary.

We’ll have all the details on the new 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe when it debuts in March.
