The Chrysler Pacifica will be available with an optional 4G LTE wi-fi hotspot for the 2018 model year.
The 4G hotspot will be available with the Chrysler Pacifica Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited models, along with the Pacifica Hybrid Touring Plus, Touring L and Limited models. It must be paired with the 8.4-inch infotainment system with the 4C Nav system. A standalone unlimited data plan will be offered to customers at a rate of $20 per month, but if they don’t need wi-fi coverage all the time, they can also buy a 250 MB day pass for $5. If they are an AT&T customer, they can add the vehicle to their Mobile Share Value or Advantage plan and receive 1 GB of data for $10 a month. Properly equipped vehicles will also come with a free trial, similar to a Sirius XM free-trial.
“For 35 years, our Chrysler minivans have led the segment we created, and that continues in 2018 with the Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid now adding 4G LTE Wi-Fi with unlimited data plans for $20 per month,” said FCA passenger car brand boss Tim Kuniskis. “The Pacifica’s new, faster 4G LTE network speed creates an in-vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot that keeps everyone in the family connected with up to eight mobile devices, making it easy to browse websites, check email and stream video. Passengers can also make the most of the class-exclusive Uconnect Theater system by utilizing the 4G hotspot to stream content via HDMI connected devices such as Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast or Apple TV.”

For additional connectivity to the outside world, a trial of SiriusXM Guardian will also be offered to buyers of properly equipped Pacificas. This system allows for a smartphone app to be used with the vehicle, which enables remote unlocking and unlocking, remote engine start and can be used to locate the vehicle, among more. It also adds an SOS Call and Assist button to the rearview mirror, which can be used to call help in the event of an emergency or contact Mopar roadside assistance.
Certain 2018 model year Chrysler Pacificas are on sale now, with dealer inventories set to become more saturated in the coming months.
