When Buick launches its new Envision crossover in July, it will start in the low $40,000 range.
Initially, only the Premium I and Premium II high-end trim levels will be available, while cheaper models will come on the scene in fall of 2016 for the 2017 model year, a Buick spokesman confirmed to
Premium I models will sell for $42,995 while Premium II models will go for $45,635. Both will come with all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 252 horsepower. Buyers who go for the fully loaded model will get heated and cooled seats, a head-up display, a 360-degree view monitor, and heated rear seats that recline.

Three more trim levels will then join the lineup for 2017, bringing the base price down to $34,990. All three of the lower trims will come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 197 horsepower.
The lower base price puts the Envision in line with its main competitors, the Acura RDX, Lincoln MKC, Infiniti QX50 and Lexus NX.
This crossover will be the first product that GM imports to the U.S. from China. In the Chinese market, the Envision has been very successful, moving about 150,000 units in 2015.
